Love by Numbers edition by Sara Donovan Romance eBooks

This book grabbed me from the very beginning with the seven steps to fall in love with (almost) anyone. Many of the romantic comedies I read seem contrived—the heroine makes choices only to move the story forward, rather than making realistic choices. Sara Donovan made this story funny and charming without overdoing it. Her characters are lovable, and I felt like I knew them, that I was helping April decide who was right for her, rather than just observing from a distance.

Love by Numbers edition by Sara Donovan Romance eBooks Reviews

I devoured this book! It was a quick read and just what I was in the mood for. It's a fresh, funny and witty, a really original and different way to talk about romance
April is attracted to a co-worker. She's sure if he knew her better he would be fall in love with her. Unfortunately just she manages to have an appointment with him ends up that he is attracted by her roommate. Depressed she decides to go to a psychologist to understand why she always falls in love with the wrong guy. During therapy she establishes a list of things to do to conquer her ideal man that for her is her best friend Nathan. Will he be the right one?
It's a light and pleasant reading, is the perfect book for a quiet afternoon read!
This was my first time reading a book by this author, and I can say with complete certainty That it will not be my last!
I have no hesitation in recommending it highly.

I received an advanced reader copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
April has had a big crush on her co-worker Ryan for quite some time now. However, all the daydreaming isn’t getting her anywhere, especially since Ryan doesn’t seem to be interested, not even when April is moved from HR to Sales, where Ryan works. April eventually manages to get Ryan to have a drink with her, but unfortunately this leads to him falling for her flirty roommate. April realises she has to get over Ryan, and the psychology course she is taking in her free time provides her with an answer. Apparently she is addicted to love, and if she can learn how to control her feelings, she can make herself fall for another guy. April comes up with a plan of 7 steps that will make her fall in love with the only guy she knows she can trust her best friend Nathan. But is it smart to experiment with not just your own, but also someone else’s feelings, and will this really solve April’s problems?

The book started a bit slow, which is why I think it took me quite some time to really get into the story. I loved the plotline of the novel, though; a girl who can’t seem to find happiness and continues to fall in love with the wrong guys, who then decides to come up with a 7-step-plan to rewire her brain so she will fall in love with someone suitable, in this case her male best friend. I honestly love this concept and I think it would make a great film as well. As soon as April’s experiment with her best friend Nathan started, I found myself really enjoying the story and I was curious to find out what would happen and who April would eventually end up with. I didn’t end up really warming to April, I guess I just didn’t have a particular click with this protagonist, but I was intrigued by her story and how it would all end.

The book is set in Australia, but it could have been anywhere in the world; I would have liked it if the author had made more use of the location. I’ve heard Australia is a beautiful country, but the book is only set in offices and houses, instead of the outdoors, which I thought was a bit of a waste. The book has a great storyline at its core and some entertaining characters; I just personally think it could have been even more amazing, with some slight changes. Overall, though, ‘Love by Numbers’ is a light-hearted and fun romantic comedy which I think chick lit fans will enjoy!
I absolutely loved the concept of this book based on what I'd read from the blurb and was very excited to read this book. I also loved the cover and thought it was pretty. Unfortunately, this is one of the few times a book hasn't met or surpassed my expectations. I enjoyed most of the book but was more than a little confused when it was all over.

I liked April. I understood she'd had her heart broken more than once and was just looking to find love and keep her heart safe. I thought the concept she came up with and implemented was brilliant but not fool proof. I didn't ever fully like her romance with her best guy friend, Nathan. I guess that's because I was never sure she really liked him of if he was over Holly enough to be with April.

In all honestly, the relationships drove me nuts. I didn't understand why April was so hung up on Ryan. I didn't know why Holly had to try to get with the all the men in April's life. The only relationship I did understand was the one April had with her father. It wasn't ideal but they were working towards a healthier relationship. I also didn't see the ending coming. It's like the book changed direction and never found its way back.

Sara Donovan's writing has promise. I read this book quickly and enjoyed most of what I read. I'll be keeping an eye out for her next book.
So great! So much fun! I could not put it down. Can't wait for her next book!
A great read, highly recommended. Witty and enjoyable. This book explores romance in refreshing way. I look forward to more from this author.

I truly enjoyed this book! I could not put this book down it was so intriguing
I adored this book - I could relate to the characters and themes. By the time I was halfway through the book I was hooked and became more engaged with the story the further I read. It's refreshing to read something set in an office environment and also in Australia - highly recommend as a fun, enjoyable read and I look forward to more of Sara's work.
